College of International Education Exchange(CIEE), Taiyuan University of Technology was established in 2004. As the window of the university’s“internationalization”strategy, it plays a significant role in promoting the higher education exchange between Taiyuan University of Technology and many universities abroad.

Relying on the strong support of the century institute of Taiyuan University of Technology，which is one of the National 211-Project Key Universities and the Double First-Class Construction Universities, the college boasts a faculty and staff team of innovation, devotion and excellence. Among its faculty members are winners of the“Provincial Academic Leader”award, the“University Excellent Teachers”and professors, associate professors and lecturers with PhD degrees. A big proportion of the full-time teachers in the college are young and well-qualified.

CIEE，TYUT，entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is now enrolling international students, including those supported by the CSC Scholarship and the CIS Scholarship for overseas students. It also recruits international students who will learn Chinese and Chinese culture at Taiyuan University of Technology, at the same time of their studying the different specialties in science and engineering, finance and management, law and arts and design and more disciplines for their Bachelor, Master and Ph.D degrees. Now, the college has nearly 500 international students, including undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral degree students in addition to the language learners, who come from around 52 countries and regions including USA, Germany, France, Russia, UK, Canada, Poland, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Benin, Yemen, Laos, etc.

CIEE provides program that allow students to work for the Bachelor of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. With years of development, it has formed its own direction and characteristics.

CIEE has its language test centers, where the language tests such as IELTS, Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), and International Chinese Teacher Certification tests, etc. are held regularly.

The internationalization of higher education is the trend of education development in China. In the future, the college will be committed to attracting more students from home and abroad to study here by providing a first-class learning environment, high-level program management, and innovative and practical curriculum in order to contribute significantly to and thus enhance the internationalization of TYUT.
